Antique Bloodstone snake ring

This very unusual ring features an oval bloodstone mounted in the centre of a double snake shaped mount and shank. The two snakes seem to wrap around the stone. All 15ct yellow gold, hallmarked 1878.
The bloodstone measures 9mm x 8mm and the ring measures 14mm x 17mm
